Description
Singer-Songwriter Rupert Wates will perform at the South Sioux City Public Library on Monday, June 12th at 6:30 p.m. A $10 suggested donation will be received at the door. His music is an eclectic mix of acoustic, melodic art/folk, with flavors of jazz, vaudeville and cabaret. He has released seven solo CDs. They have been very well reviewed in the online press and tracks from them have been played on radio all over the world. Wates' songs have been recorded by other artists in the UK, Canada and the US. In 2015, Nashville-based performer Roxie Rogers independently released Crazy Puzzle, a CD comprising songs from Wates' back catalog, which might fairly be described as a tribute album to his songwriting. Over 20 recordings featuring Wates's songs by other artists were made in 2016, and more are scheduled for 2017.
