The Dakota County Historical Society announces the return of its annual O’Connor House Christmas Tours to be held the first two weekends in November 2022. This event is free and open to the public. With the help of many community volunteers, local organizations, and area businesses, rooms of the historic O’Connor House will be decorated in various themes. Guests will be treated to hot cider and homemade cookies at the conclusion of their visit to the mansion. The other buildings on the grounds will also be available to tour. Combs School, a one-room country school house, provides a glimpse of education in years gone by. The Museum of Machinery houses various farm equipment, as well as other displays, and local craftsmen will be on hand to demonstrate their trades. The O’Connor House complex is located approximately two miles east of Homer, Nebraska at 2470 Blyburg Road. Dakota County Historical Society Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Dakota County Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation and publicizing of the history of Dakota County, Nebraska.
