Big wins, bigger hearts and a quick way you can help this Thanksgiving

Hi Habitat friends,

I wanted to share a few joy-filled updates from our team and invite you into a hands-on way to help families move closer to home before the holidays.

What’s new & good

  • Scheels generosity: Santa came early! Scheels donated carts and baskets to our ReStore, making shopping smoother and helping our mission stretch further.
  • Availa Bank support: A big thank-you to Availa Bank for stepping up in a meaningful way for Siouxland Habitat—your partnership fuels safe, decent, affordable homes.
  • Momentum everywhere: From busy build sites to a buzzing ReStore, our partner families are making huge strides—and your encouragement is felt every step of the way.

We need your help: Final Cleaning Crew (4 homes!)

We’re on track to close four homes before Christmas, and we need volunteers to help with the final clean so families can turn the key and move in with pride.

What it involves: light cleaning, wiping surfaces, vacuuming/mopping, cleaning windows, and shining up appliances—nothing fancy, just love and elbow grease.
When: November 18th & 19th
Where: 2103/2107/2111 Myrtle St & 850 Wright Ave. Sioux City, IA!
Bring: yourself, a friend, and a can-do attitude (we’ll provide supplies unless you love your own gloves)
👉 Sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054DADA823ABFAC52-60456087-final
Or reply to this email with your preferred date/time and # of volunteers, and we’ll plug you in.

Other ways to keep the goodness going
  • ReStore: Donate gently-used home goods or shop for treasures—every purchase builds homes.
  • Give: A one-time or monthly gift keeps hammers swinging and lights on. Or specify in your donation if you’d like to adopt a family this holiday season.
  • Share: Forward this email or invite a friend to volunteer with you!
  • Stay up to date: Join our email list by responding to this email with the appropriate contact information

A Thanksgiving blessing for our Habitat family
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blessings You’ve poured over our Habitat family— for the volunteers who show up with servant hearts, the donors who give with joy, and the families who remind us what hope truly looks like. As we enter this season of gratitude, may Your love guide our work, Your strength renew our spirit, and Your grace remind us that together, we build more than houses — we build community, compassion, and new beginnings. Amen.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for cheering us on, giving generously, and showing up. Together, we’re building more than houses—we’re building stability, dignity, and hope.
